- Experience: Madeleine qualified as a solicitor is 1996 and has spent her entire career advising organisations and their people in respect of health and safety compliance and enforcement. The majority of her clients are based within the construction industry and include some of the most significant infrastructure clients and major contractors in Europe, as well as a number of smaller specialist contractors. Through her training company, Yellow Triangle, she works with a wide range of people operating within the construction industry to help ensure they have a good grasp of how to meet their duties and continue improving.

- Experience: Robert has been a Scheme Monitor since 2002, becoming a Director in 2006, Vice Chairman in 2009 and then Chairman from 2010 until 2012. Director and Principal Consultant of Robert Biggs Associates Ltd, his former career has included senior positions with the Greater London Council and with the London Borough of Hackney, for whom he was Head of Engineering and later Director of Environmental Services. Robert is still active with the Considerate Constructor Scheme and is also an Assessor with the Building a Safer Future Charter.

- Experience: 47 years involved in the plant sector inc. roles within; manufacturer engineering R&D and technical, operational and product support; lecturing in Further Education; Plant Standards setting and qualification development at CITB inc. developer of the sector’s CPCS plant card scheme and finally as CPCS Product Manager. Richard Byrne

- Experience: Having graduated from Aston University with a first class combined honours degree, Richard has amassed more than 20 years’ experience in Health and Safety and across the wider sustainability agenda, the last 12 of which have been at senior leadership levels in large, complex, higher risk businesses, including Network Rail where he was a Head of Route HSE. He is a Trustee of the ExtraCare Charitable Trust and enjoyed a 5-year tenure as a non-executive director of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and Chair of their risk committee. Robin Gibson

- Experience: Robin currently leads the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team in Siemens Mobility and is responsible for EHS matters for all their Rail Infrastructure operations across the UK. Suzannah Nichol OBE
- Employer/role: Build UK, Chief Executive
- Experience: Inspired by a site visit during work experience Suzannah began her career in construction as a site engineer with the Lovell Group. She then qualified as a health and safety professional before moving on to represent the industry. Suzannah now heads up Build UK, the largest trade body in construction, and has been on the panel for over 20 years.
Naomi Nicholson Menv Sci, AIEMA
- Employer/role: Willmott Dixon, Environmental Manager
- Experience: With 22 years’ experience in the civil engineering and built environment sectors with proven credentials in Environmental Science and Health and Safety, Naomi has spent the last five years working at Wilmott Dixon. She is national lead for the company MiRisk system’s Land & Water theme, core responsibilities include maintaining legal content, remaining active in all active improvements to the electronic environmental risk assessment system, and ensuring that all site-specific actions that relate to each task suitably mitigate each risk. Waste and resource efficiency have remained a key focus point throughout her career, having identified efficiencies to eliminate and reduce waste, driving initiatives to reuse and recycle before disposal at landfill.

During his professional career, he has driven change for several tier 1 contractors, harnessing processes and systems to embed sustainability into business as usual.

Neil is passionate about improving performance through empowering people to take ownership of their own HSE development.
Patrick Smith

- Experience: Patrick is a passionate Senior Sustainability Manager with over 10 years' experience in construction and consultancy-based sustainability roles in the built environment sector, with a strong understanding of sustainable design, carbon reduction and green building certifications. He has a background in helping Mace’s supply chain and clients achieve their Net Zero Carbon targets, with a focus on reducing operational and embodied carbon throughout the development process, and he was the sustainability lead for Mace’s Commercial Offices business unit for over four years, delivering over 6,000t of carbon savings for his clients in 2021. Dr Anna Willetts

- Experience: Anna is an environmental criminal lawyer, specialising in defence work in the waste and recycling industry. She is dual-qualified, having completed a PhD in geochemistry and worked as an environmental consultant for 5 years before qualifying as a lawyer. Anna represents waste and recycling businesses and directors who are prosecuted by the regulators (Environment Agency and local authorities) for environmental and waste offences. She is the out going President of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and a Trustee of the Board. She is also Co-Convenor of UKELA’s Waste Working Party
