Q. How do I subscribe to CIP Knowledge?
Just click on register on the top right hand corner, fill in your name, email address, devise a secure password, and then complete your address details. You will then be taken to the subscription page. Click on the preferred subscription level and the total amount including vat will be detailed at the bottom of the page. Choose your payment method, either Account if you have a credit account set up with CIP or creditcard/PayPal. If you choose to pay by creditcard/PayPal you will be redirected to the secure payment site. Once you have completed your payment details you will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link and start using CIP Knowledge. If you choose to pay on account and you do not have a valid credit account, access will be revoked until we receive an alternative method of payment. Invoices and receipts for payment will be issued up to 24 hours following your subscription notification.
Q. How long will my subscription last?
Subscriptions last for one year. Thirty days before the year is up you will receive an email reminding you that your subscription is up for renewal. If you choose to renew up to and including your renewal date you will receive a 10% discount.
Q. Can I just subscribe to the H&S Manual or the Environmental Manual?
Yes you can subscribe to the Manuals individually however if you subscribe to both (CIP Knowledge) you will receive a discounted price. Please note that if you do not subscribe to one of the Manuals then you will have no access to the PDFs, forms or checklists or be able to click through on any of the search results that belong to the Manual you don’t subscribe to.
Q. How much does it cost to subscribe?
A single user licence costs starts from £298 + vat for a single user licence. Click here for full price details and the multi-licence options.
Q. Can I pay for my subscription monthly?
You can now pay monthly using the PayPal subscription payment option. By checking the PayPal paymnet option box you agree to pay your instalments as part of the recurring payment plan you have signed up to. Instalments are then deducted automatically from your PayPal account on a monthly basis until the full subscription fees have been paid. Click here for the terms and condtions of this PayPal service.
Q. Are there any special offers available for existing subscribers?
If you are an existing hardcopy or CD-Rom user wishing to switch to the online service, then you will be eligible for a discount off the first year’s subscription. Subsequent years will revert back to the full price. Email [email protected] for a quotation.
Q. Are there discounts for multiple licences?
Yes multiple licences work out cheaper per user.
Q. Can I upgrade my subscription part way through the year?
Yes you can upgrade the number of users of upgrade to CIP Knowledge anytime during your subscription. Once logged in. click on the ’Upgrade’ button on the ‘Your Subscription’ section on the dashboard and then ‘Upgrade’ and it will detail the price options.
Q. Can I set up individual users and passwords?
Yes, if you have a multi-user licence you can set up individual users up to the number of licences you hold. For example if you have a five user licence you can set up access for up to five individuals using their email addresses, with one of the individuals being the main subscription contact. You do not have to use this servce, you can just issue all users with the same email address and password and if you have a five user licence this means that up to 5 users can log in at any one time.

Q. What do I do if I forget my password?
If you forget you password, click on the forgotten password link below the password field. You will be sent an email containing a link that will allow you to reset your password. If you experience problems then email [email protected]. And the administrator will instruct you how to proceed.
Q. Can I print, and copy and paste sections from the manual?
Yes you can. Once you are in the page you want, you can press the Print this Page link at the bottom of the page. To copy and paste, just highlight the text and press ctrl and c and then paste in to your destination document.
Q. Can I download and print a whole section?
You can either click on the ‘Download PDF’ button at the top right-hand side of the page within the section or go to the Asset Library on the Dashboard and choose the appropriate section and click on download. This document will then open in adobe acrobat and you can print from there. Please note that the online version will be more up-to-date than the printed version therefore some of the information in the PDFs may not be as up-to-date as the web pages.
Q. Can I download and print forms and checklists?
Click on the ‘Asset Library’ on your Dashboard for a list of downloadable Forms, Checklists and Manual sections, many in both a PDF and Word format, from both Manuals.
Q. Who can I contact if I have a technical query regarding the manual content?
You can use the Chat function which will pop up on the page when logged in. We will aim to respond within 24 hrs.

Q. How does the search function work?
CIP Knowledge uses Boolean search logic. Boolean search is a type of search allowing users to combine keywords with operators such as + and – to produce more relevant results. For example, a Boolean search could be + hotel + New York. This would limit the search results to only those documents containing the two keywords. The following examples demonstrate some search strings that use boolean full-text operators:
Q. How up-to-date is the manual?
The online manual will be updated continuously; there is a date on the bottom of the website page that tells you when the page was last updated. In addition details of the more recent page updates are listed on the dashboard. Please note that the dates on the website pages may differ to those on the PDFs as the PDFs are currently generated from the hardcopy Manual which is updated twice yearly.
